Sorry, I just love Jake Johannsen.
tommyrot-
How many shows are you recapping at the moment?
Er. Well, I was recapping one. Once this recap goes up I will officially be taking a much-needed break. My brain's all melted.
I like Peter Davison more than I liked the 5th Doctor
Yeah, that's probably what I really mean. He was fine in the role, but the character was too much of a goody, so Turlough seemed more sympathetic because he was all conflicty.

It's interesting, the 5th Doctor was definitely a goody-goody, but rewatching I notice just how irritable and peevish he is most of the time. I usually just put it down to having to deal with Adric and/or Tegan, while the other Doctors got useful companions like Jamie or Romana. (Of course, the 6th Doctor got Peri and Mel, and still looked bad by comparison.)
The Sixth Doctor combined the temperament of a high-strung rock star, the arrogant entitlement of a crooked politician, and the fashion sense of the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Really, he never had a chance...
Ah, see, I did like Colin Baker. Which I know is not a popular stance. But I liked him because he was such a dick, and I hadn't seen the Doctor that way before. And then around that time I saw some of the 1st Doctor, and he was kind of a jerk, too. At least, as I recall. It's been a long time. But I was interested in seeing how they were going to get him involved in the plot when he didn't want to be.
But I was in high school when I saw those, so I may have found it easier to relate to his put-upon attitude at the time.
Oh, I got my custom-made bag from Timbuk2 in the mail today. I like it much.
You all are going on Doctor Who, but until last year I'd seen complete story arcs featuring only two -- Baker and Pertwee. That's because that's all the PBS stations in Tulsa, Denver, and Seattle had. And I never was around any fans of the show when I was in the UK (far more Red Dwarf fans).
The Tacoma PBS station briefly showed some First Doctor stories last year, but they have since stopped running Doctor Who altogether.

This is what I'm saying; no wonder I related.
...Oh, c'mon, you were so thinking it.
(Much admiration for the CCBB reference, though.)
I mostly find the Sixth Doctor forgettable. But, I've been over that in the last couple of weeks, just in a different thread.
And as much as I like the actor in other things, I hate hate hate hate hate the Fifth Doctor.
I feel an urge to rewatch lots and lots of Doctor Who. Sadly, I don't think Paul would be a fan.
Argh! Damn it, how do you kill a Newsies earworm? I didn't even enjoy the movie, so why the hell did something from it get stuck in my head? I'm trying to beat it down with the Due South theme, but it's not working.
