this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I've mentioned it before, but I grew up eating greasy cake donuts made at the local cider mill every year

Oh, YUM. When I was in Vermont for my bro's wedding, I made sure to get a cider cake donut at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Also, the best honey EVAR, from the apple blossoms. I like it much better than clover honey.

Thrive to spite them

I've long perfered Dunkin Donuts to Krispy Kreme. Dunkin Donuts have more body and are cake like and also come in better flavors. Like pumpkin. Yum.

However, recently I've had fresh Krispy Kremes and I do love the sugar rush I get from them.

Now I want barbeque. I pass 4 places on my way route two and from work, all locally owned and all good.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My son has a total fauxhawk. The hair on the top of his head is about 4 inches long, and the rest is so blond you barely notice it. I should dress him up as Billy Idol for Halloween.

And dang! I forgot about your being in town on Halloween, Jilli. It'd be fun to see you.

I am SO looking forward to the trip. All the money I made from the giant gothy yard sale over the weekend is set aside for it.

How did the Gothy yard sale go?

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

My first non-KK donut was a freshman year culture shock experience akin to going to an advertised "barbecue" where the menu featured hamburgers and hot dogs, and discovering that no one else on my dorm hall made a distinction between a barbecue and a cookout.

I can totally relate to that. One involved slathering everything in a yummy sauce, and the other does not.

Yes. You've now had a very good approximation of what my weekends in the autumn tasted like. The pictures of the cider were really making my mouth water.

Now I'll have to try apple blossom honey.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I wonder if one of those is a place some friends swore by. Really rustic meat & three type place. Just rough benches and picnic tables. You didn't "order" anything , you ate what they served you The meal might vary a little in terms of whether you got collard greens or green beans and what kind of cobbler or dessert you got, but it was basically bbq, mashed potatos, corn on the cob, some bacon grease cooked veggie, biscuits, gravy and sweet tea.

Drooooooool....

Yay, you went!

So good. It's lighter-tasting than clover honey. (Also lighter color.) Like, less intense, if that makes sense.

Also -- SEAN!!!! How you been? I feel like I haven't seen you around in ages!

Oh, that's adorable! I saw a baby in a store the other day with an enormous mohawk afro (didn't look deliberate- just the way some babies have bald sides) and it should have looked goofy, but it just looked cute.

Really well. I made more money than I expected, and I only bought one thing for a dollar. (I don't count the clothes I got from my friend Alexia, as all we ever do is trade stuff back and forth).
