Hippo Birdies, Trudes!

I'm still a bit sniffly and mucus-licious this morning, so I don't think yoga is going to happen.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Happy Birthday Trudy!
In Health complaints-- My ear is still plugged up. I am mostly not in pain, though, which is good. But I want to hear!!!!
Happy Birthday Trudy!
I finally had dinner at a legendary local place last night, Anderton's Oyster Bar. Very snazzy, and the food was quite good if not healthy (what am I doing ordering stuff that comes with drawn butter while I'm on cholesterol meds?!?). But I didn't have the heart to tell my waiter that the lobster dainties that are their signature dish have been served periodically by Red Lobster since at least 1990.
Happy Birthday, Trudy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of our nieces turns 3 years old, today. I will never forget the beautiful, soul-stirring winds on the day she was born. They started in Boston at the same time they started in New York, just as the names were being read at ground zero, and blew all day long. Knowing a baby was making her way into the world and our family at the same time was...I don't even think I can describe it.
CNN sues the federal government and gets them to drop media ban. yes, it's true:
NEW YORK - Challenged in court by CNN, the Bush administration agreed on Saturday not to prevent the news media from following the effort to recover the bodies of Hurricane Katrina victims.
The government won't, however, permit photographers to join them in boats or helicopters during the mission to recover bodies from flooded homes.
CNN filed suit against the Federal Emergency Management Agency in U.S. District Court in Houston late Friday, concerned about two statements made by government officials that day. The officials said they didn't believe it was right for the news media to show pictures of Katrina victims.
Terry Ebbert, New Orleans' homeland security director, said the recovery effort would be done with dignity, "meaning that there would be no press allowed." Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honore later said there would be zero access to the recovery operation.
In a hearing Saturday before U.S. District Judge Keith Ellison, Army Lt. Col. Christian DeGraff promised that recovery teams would not bar the media from watching. Satisfied, CNN agreed to put its case on hold.
