My sister in pain. I can't even figure out why they went to the station wagon, amy. I was past baby stage because I remember riding in it, so it's not like they needed to make room for a lot of gear for me, or something. And there was a big back seat and trunk, because this was prior to the energy crisis.
Oh, I loved that car. And when we took rides with the top down, my mother and I used to wear kerchiefs on our heads, to keep our hair out of our faces.
And the station wagon? Green. It couldn't have been worse. Okay. It could have. It didn't have the fake wood on the side at least, but still. From a red convertible to a green station wagon? Even as a wee child, I knew how wrong that was.

Oh man. There used to be a black one over on Beacon Hill I'd always see. It was in REALLY good shape. I coveted it something fierce.
I've also always been fond of the Mazda MX3 (for newer cars) aka The Bullet. Also, the 1st and 3rd of the RX7 models (hated the 2nd one - again, too boxy in the wrong way). The RX8 is pretty sweet too.

I miss my '71 Nova. [link] My grandfather gave it custom paint (very dark brown with a metallic fleck), glasspacks, and a CB before I got it. Then a friend mounted a speaker under the hood and the CB turned into a PA. Fun stuff for high schoolers. That car had more personality than some people I know.
I'm calling the SVDP store next to see if they still want clothes mailed down to them
