Happy Birthday, Lyra!
Theodosia, I'm sorry your car. May the thieves break out in boils.
My first car was a 1968 Ford Galaxie 500. It was black with a red interior. I called it the Hearse.
There's a black-and-white Nash Metropolitan for sale on a front yard on my street. Every time I pass it, I think, "Oh, cute."

There's a red convertible MG for sale in our nabe. Z has taken to dragging me past it, as I will invariably stop to drool.
Robin - thanks for posting that.
I love me a Nash Metropolitan.
I heard a rumor that it's Lyra Jane's birthday. Congrats on another successful trip around the sun, LJ!

My parents had a [196somehing) red Galaxie Convertible. That car was the best. Then they decided to get a station wagon. Asshats. They only had the one kid.

This is the same sad story of my parents' Triumph TR4. Dammit, I was a wee baby! They could've squeezed me in on the floorboards!
My arrival was the reason my parents got rid of their cars. The Chevy? No seat belts (and it was 20 years old.) The Karmann Ghia? No back seat.
