Happy Birthday, LJ!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

A friend of mine had a Chevette. It was killed by a canadian goose. The goose survived.

My grandmother had a Chevelle, and my god was that thing a tank. No power steering either, it's amazing she was able to drive it at all.

I remember when civics were teeny little things. NSM, anymore, huh? We had a '75 civic. It sucked. It was a lemon year.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

If I understand this correctly, what they are talking about is collusion amongst the major oil companies to aritficially limit supply to raise prices, which is illegal.

Collusion in order to manipulate the market is a different matter.

Uh-huh. Those three documents have bates-stamps on them. Two of them have dated trial exhibit stickers on them. They are not "secret" memos (at least as of today), they were produced as part of litigation that, to judge from the trial stickers, happened a decade ago. I can't find the verdict convicting the companies of anti-trust activity. Can you? Given that the press release fails to trumpet a victory-- and, reading the memos, I'm not sure I see it, keeping in mind that this is probably the best they got-- I'm guessing that this is another group taking advantage of the New Orleans disaster to make a political point. It's disgusting.

I'm guessing the litigation is this one: [link]

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I remember when the Civic was called the CVCC.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The late night noise was awful though. I have no idea why they would do it on a residential street. People are assholes.

No kidding. You're lucky your new digs are off the main drags over by you. A friend of mine who lived on the corner of Essex by the Witch House said there were always Harley's blowing around that corner at 3 am.

I was concerned moving right around the corner from a Harley parts shop, but it hasn't been too bad despite Bridge Street. Some people tear through to get from Bridge to the street down by the bay (and vice versa) but it's still got nothing on living right on 1A like I did before.

I still see some of the older Civics from time to time. They used to be pretty ugly cars too (way too boxy, and not in the classic Volvo way).

Outside

It looks like they are going for an Audi look (aka Godzilla stepped on one of the new VW Bugs look). The interior looks sweet though.
