well, I don't know if they raced side by side, but there was a lot of very fast driving, very late at night, and very much knocked the crap out of my poor Gallant's front end one night.

The late night noise was awful though. I have no idea why they would do it on a residential street. People are assholes.

Yeah, I'm really interested in seeing the odometer reading when I get it back -- as it happens, the odo had just kicked over to 70,000 this last weekend, and I noticed that I was at 70,033 when I parked it Monday night.

My old Audi would have been choice for drag-racing -- a couple of times I found myself cruising along at 90 on a wide open road because it was so damn smooth and easy. Not to mention the acceleration it had. SIGH.

My grandmother had a Chevelle, and my god was that thing a tank. No power steering either, it's amazing she was able to drive it at all.

I remember when civics were teeny little things. NSM, anymore, huh? We had a '75 civic. It sucked. It was a lemon year.

If I understand this correctly, what they are talking about is collusion amongst the major oil companies to aritficially limit supply to raise prices, which is illegal.

Collusion in order to manipulate the market is a different matter.

Uh-huh. Those three documents have bates-stamps on them. Two of them have dated trial exhibit stickers on them. They are not "secret" memos (at least as of today), they were produced as part of litigation that, to judge from the trial stickers, happened a decade ago. I can't find the verdict convicting the companies of anti-trust activity. Can you? Given that the press release fails to trumpet a victory-- and, reading the memos, I'm not sure I see it, keeping in mind that this is probably the best they got-- I'm guessing that this is another group taking advantage of the New Orleans disaster to make a political point. It's disgusting.
