You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Yeah, but I've never heard of them before, much less have their album. It's the accompaniment to some kind of visual. And yet, I'm drawing a total blank on even any foreign movies I've seen other than Diva. IMDB's no help either.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Long playing -- as opposed to a 78 which didn't have as much music on it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

What does LP stand for?

Hee!

sorry....

Do you know what a "12 inch" is?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What does LP stand for?

Long Player.

As opposed to EP - Extended Player. (Which is shorter.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

What does LP stand for? Ell Pee. I can't work it out. (I do know what a record is, and am just old enough to say "record" and "album" even when I mean "contents of a CD.")

Long playing, innit?

I used to know that, as well as EP.

Y'all remember EPs, right? RIGHT??!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

As Scrappy notes, it was a distinct media from the 78 which was very short. The distinction being...longerness.

For some reason, we had some 78s that were all about business something or other back when I was a kid.

Waste of a record.

Plus 78s were made of Bakelite or somesuch brittle plastic.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Y'all remember EPs, right? RIGHT??!

There are a few not 10 feet from me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And "album" comes from a bunch of individual non-LP records packaged together.

Right?
