But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

God, that just never gets old.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Thanks for the link Betsy. About time the Press does their job!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

When I first read about this, I thought they were making it up.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Hey ita, I have exciting news. Where you at? You should call me it's so good.

Oh, ita, it couldn't have been scripted better. I just watched Access hollywood and was a little skeeved the onslaught of celebrities that have descended on the displaced, led by Oprah. (Though you know a rescue mission helmed by Oprah would have gotten the job done.) You know when celebrities set out to do good and they bring cameras, it seems self-serving to me.

On the weekend they showed pictures of Macy Grey volunteering at the Astrodome. But she was dressed down, wearing a Red Cross vest and very low key, just sorting clothes. She wasn't walking through the like she was Jesus. (I am looking at you Jamie Fox.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have wondered if the "turning away' of supplies was merely that they were redirected, and the rejection of workers or equipments was more of a "not right now, it will clog up the supply line to have to handle everything" but when FEMA cuts phone lines, then there's no benefit of the doubt to be given.

I don't know - if it was an isolated incident, sure, but I've heard too many similar reports. They can't all have misunderstood.

There was a long list at Daily Kos of all the relief efforts that FEMA turned away, or failed to utilize. It's very damning.

Including my favorite: FEMA Urges First Responders Not To Respond.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Did Oprah already have her fall "Let's Give the Audience Everything!" show? If not, I'd like to see her donate the items (taxes paid, unlike with the car giveaway) to Katrina survivors.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Can you donate with taxes paid? Doesn't that mean more gift?
