Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I'm also impressed with the effectiveness of Plan Wally. bt's gone and put serious work into practical date finding and cultivating. It's rather instructive/inspirational/etc. When I get my ducks suitably rowed I may try to follow his example.
ETA: Much health~ma to tiggy's family. What a scary thing!
bt's a catch and a half... I'm sure that doesn't hurt.
My new cousin-in-law is a plumber! I have this secret plan that when I buy a house, I'm gonna invite him, my once-was-a-historical-rehab-contractor uncle, and my SIL and her construction contractor dad to visit and put them all to work.
.... yeah, I know it won't really work. But I can dream.
Timelies. Feeling ever so much better today. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do (despite the craxzy dreams).
Also, it looks like the weather is going to be every bit as good as they said it would this week. And I've got Thursday and Friday off and am going to Maine. Woohoo!
My recent experience suggests that reading up on exposed-to-risk is effective.
I recommend drugs, orgasms and alcohol.
All things considered, I think I'd go with Hec's plan.
Though, as I spent most of last night awake, and therefore most of this morning pissed off, 1 paragraph from "Conflict in the Cold War" did me in for a good 2 hour nap. I still don't get the political-science-theory difference between "war is a possibility" and "war may occur." But the author thought it was vitally important.
But it's not a fatwa. Really.
He has gone completely out of whatever tiny little mind he had, hasn't he?
"We don't need another $200-billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator," he said of the democratically elected Chavez, who is a frequent critic of U.S. foreign policy.
That's kind of a condemnation of the Iraq war, if you squint and look at it sideways.
Robertson has made controversial statements in the past. In October 2003, he suggested that the U.S. State Department be blown up with a nuclear device. He has also said that feminism encourages women to "kill their children, practise witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."
The first part of the above para made him really popular around State, let me tell you. Up there with G. Gordon Liddy advising people to aim for the head when shooting at federal officers.
PR spouted off with the second part of the above para a few months before I had a chance to meet him. I declined the invitation for fear I'd go across the buffet table at him with a wooden stake and an axe.
