I guess I'm not surprised people are busting out with the insanity and violence, given the situation they're in. If you feel ignored, "mustn't grumble" starts to feel like "yes, please steamroll me." (Although, protesting en masse is a clever way to draw attention to your plight! If you get CNN on your side, the help will come sooner.)

(Yes, I'm the sort who would walk up to a reporter and say, "Give me what is in your pockets. Do you want an interview? Go find me a flashlight, hon.")

Damn. Several times, snipers have fired on a hospital, preventing it from being evacuated, with the National Guard right there!

I'm not blaming the National Guard for not immediatly finding the sniper - I'm just amazed at the amount of crazy it takes to do this.

How can this possibly benefit the snipers? Have people just broken with reality and are trying to exert some sort of control, over something, anything?

Or do people just suck *that* much, when the chips are down?
