chocolate is under the Sweet category. And crunchy, most often, is salty, but can be sweet, depending.
So, see, biscuits would be in salty and scones would be in sweet.

I read where Heath Ledger said making out with Jake Gyllenhal wasn't that much fun.
Maybe for HIM. But I'M certainly going to enjoy it.
Amen. He still owes me for that crappy The Order movie, and I can't think of a better way for him to repay the debt than by slipping some tongue to Jake Gyllenhaal.
I categorize my food just like that. The Salt and Sweet Divide.
And salt and sweet shouldn't mix, with a very few exceptions, and I've only come to those in the last couple of years. And can't think of a single one right now.
I generally think nothing should be in the sweet category, and that things unavoidably in that category should endeavor to be as savory as possible anyway to serve my oddball anti-sugar tastes.
So chocolate? No sweeter than is absolutely necessary for out of hand eating, and even less so for cooking with.
kettle popcorn?

What about trail mix? There's nothing like an M&M with salt on it. Mmmmm.
I have learned over the years that some things I'd thought of only in the sweet category can actually work both sides of the divide. Like, cinnamon/lamb. Yum. Fortunatley, I learned that one a while ago.
See, I wouldn't consider this slash, in a sense. It's a love story that happens to be about two guys.
OK. I didn't quite get that, from hit or miss following. I'm all pro-love-story, whoever the players. The relevent parties being both male isn't inherently titillating to me, but it sounds really sweet. Which is really all I ask.
kettle popcorn?
Yes! Brilliant example.
Trail mix, depending, can work for me, too. I think a really good chocolate covered pretzel (I don't usually like them) once opened my eyes a bit, too.
I'm not sure I'd count on that story being sweet, if Lee followed the source at all. Moving, certainly.
