Man, you just get darker and darker, and the weird thing is, your aura? Beige.

So... I'm just going to curtail my posting significantly and lurk a lot more. This isn't a culture I understand well enough yet to be a productive member of b.org. The less I talk, the less damage I can do.

Maybe I over-skimmed, but you really seemed to fit right in and I don't think you so much as annoyed anyone much less pissed anyone off. Like Gud, I also thought you were an old-timer. Anyway, we totally need more barflies in our coffeehouse. Seriously.

dw, it takes a while to adjust to board culture, but I haven't noticed any higher level of kerfuffling today than usual, so don't take it too much to heart, whatever happens.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

For me, cakes contain eggs. Breads do not.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

dw, I don't see it that way. Sorry you feel uncomfortable.

Even oatmeal cookies? I'm all about the chewiness.

I already put in over and above the usual amount of oatmeal, so I get the chewiness that way. It's purely a me distinction, I think.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Is gingerbread bread or cake?

This is a question for the ages, I think.

I never saw gingerbread in bread/cake format until I was an adult. I always had gingerbread cookies, so I thought that was what gignerbread meant -- flat, hard cookies. Seeing inch-tall cake was a bit alarming.

Oh, and Nutty's totally right about the guacamole. I'm never getting the green stains out of that one sweater from back in 2001...

Chikat, is challah a cake then, in your mind? Because, my thought was no, and that takes 4 eggs. But brioche, yes, and that is several eggs. Both of them totally drown in butter, too.

Coding and Sleeping

If you can make a good grilled cheese sandwich with it, it's bread. Otherwise, cake.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Close to my honey oatmeal bread recipe. I swear up and down, it's bread.

For me, it's something about the crumb and the way the gluten forms about the air bubbles. I could probably base my decision on B&W closeups, and ignore the ingredient list.

dw, I don't think I ever got to post with you before, so I don't have any sort of opinion myself, but that should not stop me from saying that either way, I'm sorry that you feel this way.

In more cases than not, worrying about not doing things right is the first sign of actually doing them in the right way, if I'm making any sense.
