Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

ION: Gambling Monkeys Compelled by Winner's High

When given a choice between steady rewards and the chance for more, monkeys will gamble, a new study found.

And they'll keep taking risks as the stakes rise and dry spells get longer.

Silence means security silence means approval

More press conference fun.

Senator Vitter: New Orleans will "absolutely" be rebuilt.

Nothing against the many, many people who have lost everything in NOLA, but a certain scene from Holy Grail keeps coming to mind.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

But they weren't walking. They were running. And there was a door to stop the weather once they reached it.

And then, and then, they slammed the door in its face!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Frost is totally weather!

But it's a whole different weather vibe than a hurricane. It's a different temperature and everything.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's still got water in it. I don't see how they can possibly be different.

I think what we need is a movie where people run from a hurricane. It's the only way to solve this.

You can't make a good snowfort in a hurricane.

There is a bodysurfing tradeoff.

What is even happening?

Frost is much colder. It's much slower. It's lower down. Do we need to send you back to Michigan for a refresher course on frost, ita?

Partly for selfish reasons because I will never get a chance to visit NO as it was

Like you Maria, I'm mostly just horrified and heartbroken because of the tragedy, but I have to admit, there's a small bit of "I'll never get to see it" in there, too. A lot of people I've talked with though, those who've been there, and those who haven't, feel the same.

The closest I've come to bodysurfing is a bellyflop. Burrowing is much easier.
