Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Our rosemary is dying, so that sounds like a plan....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

When is landfall supposed to be? And when is it supposed to have passed New Orleans?

I'm filled with a whole lot of YOU CAN'T DO THAT! IT'S NEW ORLEANS which doesn't seem to be fading. Perhaps I should coccoon, or else get a sense of perspective.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

When is landfall supposed to be?

Sunrise. 6:00 am, IIRC.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Dana, I am glad you have talked to your parents now. Let shrift and DH distract you now.

Cass, one kid called it a puppycat.
Oooh, do they want a puppycat of their very own? I think she'd ship. Few air holes, a priority stamp and Jordan's your puppycat... InotsoON, guess who likes to lie across the laptop? And reboot it?
they were like, OMG I have knowledge nobody else has! POWER!!!
Hee!
I have a LOT of fresh sage this year. Someone please give me suggestions about what to do with it all.
Roast a chicken. Stuff half a lemon in it, smoosh some butter mixed with the sage under the skin and roast away. Yum.

Also? In browned butter over any variety of pastas, especially stuffed.

I ate all my sage, I am sad.

My basil is being dramatic and wants water but I don't think I care enough to drag the hose around. Maybe I will just take it a glass of water instead.

I also sent an email to work saying I would not be in tomorrrow. Referenced my doctor's orders in it. I feel guilty and relieved at the same time.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

California Lemon-Butt Chicken!

Don't go to work, Cass. And don't feel bad about it.

This just seems surreal:

A statement from the National Weather Service in Slidell, near New Orleans, Louisiana, warned that much of the affected area "will be uninhabitable for weeks, perhaps longer."

Low-rise, wood-frame buildings will be destroyed, and concrete apartment buildings "will sustain major damage," it said.

"High-rise office and apartment buildings will sway dangerously, a few to the point of total collapse," the warning read.

"All windows will blow out. Airborne debris will be widespread, and may include heavy items such as household appliances and even light vehicles."

Yep. Coming soon to a Buffista cookbook near you.

Not going to work. Still working on the guilt.

This. This is my problem at the moment.

6 AM????

Dear lord. I hope my cousin had the sense to get out.

Ah, well. Maybe I won't be needing to go back and get my stuff out of storage anymore. I think I do need to coccoon. I mean, I'm not over the destruction of Port Royal, and that was almost 300 years before I was born.
