Angel: He is dead. Technically, he's undead. It's a zombie. Connor: What's a zombie? Angel: It's an undead thing. Connor: Like you? Angel: No, zombies are slow-moving, dimwitted things that crave human flesh. Connor: Like you. Angel: No! It's different. Trust me.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

California Lemon-Butt Chicken!
Yep. Coming soon to a Buffista cookbook near you.
Don't go to work, Cass. And don't feel bad about it.
Not going to work. Still working on the guilt.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm filled with a whole lot of YOU CAN'T DO THAT! IT'S NEW ORLEANS which doesn't seem to be fading. Perhaps I should coccoon, or else get a sense of perspective.

This. This is my problem at the moment.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

6 AM????

Dear lord. I hope my cousin had the sense to get out.

Ah, well. Maybe I won't be needing to go back and get my stuff out of storage anymore. I think I do need to coccoon. I mean, I'm not over the destruction of Port Royal, and that was almost 300 years before I was born.

I've never been, and I'm filled with it, too. Selfishly, I don't want to have to say I never saw New Orleans before. Damn it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's not like anyone has anything new to say, anyway.

This is always my problem with wall-to-wall coverage of anything, but even worse, something that hasn't happened yet.

Me, I'm watching the MTV Video awards, and... not hating it. Puffy makes me laugh, but I do like the songs. I'm having a resurgence of being familiar with, and liking, the Pop Music Of Today.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Is Teppy around? Katrina will hit Ohio on Wednesday. Of course, it will be significantly weaker by then, but it still will be some nasty weather for folks there.

Cass, if I asked for more heat, kat'd kill me

Yes. Yes I would.

Though this AM we spent the morning in Long Beach kayaking and by the time we got home it was almost 4:00 so not super hellish. just hellish.

My shins are a little bit pink. Not terrible, but not great.

Tomorrow is day 1 with added kids. Sigh.

Now tagless for your comfort.

It's supposed to be a tropical depression by the time it hits us. They're calling for it to sweep right over Columbus on Wednesday. We're already planning for indoor activities. Bleh. Although at least it's not a hurricane.

Owen's newest thing is turning around in circles until he falls down giggling. It's so funny I'm considering cancelling cable.

When does new tv start? Actually, just when does new Grey's Anatomy start? I need a dose of doctor mcdreamy.

Also, I had a Seth-ish moment because there were two yacht clubs both sailing lessons.

If I won the lottery, I'd buy a house on Alamitos Bay.

I'm approaching it very analytically (and horrified) but yes. My dad actually said "Well, at least you got to see it before this." which rather disturbed me. I mean, yeah. But...I don't want a NO-that-was, y'know? The potential is just...horrific. I mean, I was around for Andrew, but hurricanes were a nebulous bad in a far away place then. Now, I've been through them, including a bad one. My world has gotten smaller. Just...no.

New Orleans is iconic! It can't be drowned!
