It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Go Fug Yourself makes me laugh: [link]

I could not figure out who that was!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Actually, I can't identify at least 70% of the people they show and ridicule. Perhaps I should be proud of that?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Sympathy for the folks nearer the Gulf Coast, but I'm loving the fact that we have clouds and rain for the first time in a month.

I was all panicky finishing up half of what I thought was due out yesterday at 11:00 pm, and then realized that the next segment is actually due 8/31. The euphoria saw me home safely. Though it may not survive the 50 page recordkeeping grid document I have to apply edits to tomorrow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's gotta be Tara Reid. Unless it's Lindsey Lohan.

Good morning! It's shaping up to be a beautiful one. I've already gone out to surf and had an iced chai latte. I may be able to weasel more of both into my weekend too. We've only just begun.

Dana, I hope NO is safe.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

No krav?

(yet)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We've only just begun.

Didn't realize you were (a) a Carpenters fan; (b) a surfer. This is all because of Lilo and Stitch isn't it? You're starting to get like that woman in the Superheroes episode of TAL who learned all the necessary skills to be a superhero.

Krav isn't until 11:30. Plenty of time to rest up.

Didn't realize you were (a) a Carpenters fan; (b) a surfer

I wouldn't qualify myself as either -- but when an earworm hits, I need to share. As for the surfing -- well, I go out with a board and a wetsuit, and see what happens. So far, not bad.

Look what I just learned from the NYT:

Apple commands an estimated 75 percent of digital music sales, and roughly 80 percent of sales of MP3 players

I've been watching the new channel "Current": it's interesting, like a combination of early-80s MTV with mid-90s earnestness and production values. But if there's anything they are apparently in need of, it's content, so if anyone knows any aspiring documentarians it'd be wise to point them that way.

with mid-90s earnestness

I don't remember being earnest in the mid-90s.

Well, you were in SF. They're very special.
