It'd be of some use (why I'm still playing) -- I miss it at WX, for instance, although I don't care about every thread in the TV forum -- but I do know if there's been activity since the last time I looked, even if I'm not sure where.
WX had a Mark as Read function, though, which meant you could clear the unread messages you don't care about from the totals. That made it more useful as an indicator.

True, but I never used Mark Read, and it was still useful for me.

ita, I'm supposed to include site traffic type numbers in my book proposal, can I some info from you on # of unique visitors per month on average?

Eddie, I suggest you use the email admins link and send them a reminder, as posts about helping might get lost in the postings shuffle (especially if they are very busy with lives and stuff). I'm sure they appreciate your willingness to assist/code.
Is anyone else having trouble with the "Jump to the first post on this date:" function? The month and day fields are there. But the day field has no number nor space. When I click the down arrow, an empty box pops up.
