I think it's time.
Buffistas Building a Better Board ++
Do you have problems, concerns, or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.
Like the Cylons, I have a plan. Unlike the Cylons, I actually do have a plan.
1. Announce that after a certain time (thinking Satdurday evening) messages posted on the current board will not be transferred to the new board.
2. I can make a webpage redirecting people to www.buffistas.me for www.buffistas.org
2. I can download all the data from the current board and load it into the new board.
3. You can update the DNS settings for the buffistas.org.
4. I'll direct buffistas.org to the redirecting web page. At this point the board should be useable.
5. I'll get a certificate for buffistas.org.
6. I'll make buffistas.org the address for the board and get make a page redirecting people from www.buffistas.me to www.buffsitas.org
7. Slowly restore the static pages
No idea how I could help, but if I can help...
Given the origin of our community, are we certain that migrating on Halloween with a full moon out isn't asking for trouble?
(Kidding! This is so exciting!)

No problem, all the real demons find it too crass to go out.
So we have to register on the new board, our account doesn't migrate? Man, I'm gonna lose my #18 ID.
Ah well, life proceeds. Well done, procedure enablers!
Accounts will be migrated, although it will ask you to change your password when you sign in. (Your new password can be the same as your old one, though).
Oh, fantastic! Thank you for telling me. That's a relief.
I'm sure this has been addressed, but what happens to this board? All this history here--will it be archived somewhere? It's asking a huge lot, I know, and in the end it isn't as important as other things are. But it would be nice to know it's *somewhere,* if anyone wanted to look back, or look up a point.
All the posts in the current threads (even the closed ones) will be migrated over. The older archived threads are files that can be transferred over.
Thank you, Beverly, for asking the questions I had. Thank you Tom for answering, and thank you, Gud, for all of it.
