Yes this site will eventually go away, but all the threads will be migrated to the new one. There will still be COMM, but I don't know about the quotes site as I don't know how the quotes bit works. If that is broken, the functionality could be added as part of the new site.

Do you have problems, concerns, or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.
Once migration functionality is being tested on the beta site, it will be more clear how things will work. On the UI front, I still need to add the left sidebar as an option on larger displays so that will make things more familiar.
Oh. If you are an existing user and don't know your password, I'll modify the 'I forgot my password' functionality to migrate when it resets a password though that relies on having a a good profile email address. If you are an existing user and don't know your password and don't have a good profile address, then it will be time to contact an admin.
Do we/can we keep our original signup number? I like my second decade (18) sign in number. A minor thing, but one I'm proud of.
Aw, man. I just read my profile page. My tagline graveyard is quotes from a dozen years or more of Buffista history, including Frankenbuddha and Ginger.
Yes. You'll have your original user id number. If you have multiple accounts with the same e-mail address only one will remain though as the new site doesn't allow duplicate e-mail addresses.
Oh good! Thanks, Gud!
Beverly asked the questions I had! Also, delighted to stay sweet 16.
Things should quiet down for me shortly and I'll be able to test and participate more. Thank you again, Gud! Your efforts are very much appreciated. Brendon will test the new user function when that is an option!
As usual, I haven't had a lot of time, but I've migrated users and thread metadata successfully and I'm attempting to migrate 1.8 million posts right now. It's been a slow process since I've had make a bunch of fixes to get things to migrate, but so far this migrate run is looking good. If it works, I'll update the beta site.
This won't be the last step. I'll still need to migrate bookmarks, blocked users, and thread subscriptions. But it will let people test out things w/ migrated content (albeit about a month old).
I hope my script was helpful.
It was. Thanks.
