Well, it's too late, I fixed that too. so there.
Buffistas Building a Better Board ++
Do you have problems, concerns, or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.
I tried to post wrong code (left off the second quote marks in a link), and it rejected the post entirely -- like, just went back to the thread like it never happened. Not sure if that's a bug or a feature.
Editing my css didn't work -- was it supposed to?
It is supposed to. But you're going to have to be more explicit about "didn't work." What did you expect to happen, and what happened instead? Did you enter CSS that had no effect? Did you enter CSS that was not saved? Could you not get to the CSS page?
Here's my stab at listing the board use cases, FTR: [link]
Looks pretty good.
First glance at the code doesn't look like a bunch will need to be cleaned up for other boards. I mean, other than the fact that everything's referencing giles.php, heh! But anyway, you weren't kidding about your going overboard on the quotes engine, which, obviously is chock full of show specific references.
I'll do some line by line tomorrow, hopefully.
Did you enter CSS that had no effect?
This one. I copied it from my profile here, which now that I think about it, I'm not sure if that works, either!
I figured out my problem with the css -- that was straight-up user error. It did edit my stylesheet, just not in the way I thought.
other than the fact that everything's referencing giles.php
Oh, as usual, dear. I completely forgot that's what I called the main library of functions that didn't fall within a class...I mean, I knew what the filename was, obviously--I've been in and out of Giles all weekend (yes, it does need to be phrased that way), I just forgot it was an in joke, audience=1.
Heh. In jokes, audience=1 are the best kinds.
So, ballpark--Liese, Amy, Jesse, Vortex, and Sox--when do you think you'll have bounced around all the functions in the document linked upthread?
And if there's anything maybe a bit weird you do here, please do it twice as weirdly there. That's the sort of bouncing on the bed that we need to test the foundations.
