Something odd in my "Set Profile". Under "change email address" both old and new email address are filled - old being actual email, new being by user name. Which means that if I save any changes in my profile without filling the right email in the "new email" field, my email gets destroyed.

Typo, does this happen every time you go into set profile? I can't duplicate it myself. Is there any way you have an autofill set up in your browser? The code doesn't fill that field in at all when the page is first loaded.

It does happen every time. I'll check for autofill. It is easy to get an accidental autofill in Firefox.
Having checked. Yup, that is what happened. Sorry to have bugged you. Just did not think of autofill for some reason.

This could just be a work computer weirdness thing, but I just tried to edit a message in Natter, and I couldn't. I was able to get to the editing page, and edit, but then the post button didn't work. I had to delete it instead.
