Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Can't the email addresses be changed periodically?

I think that would make for crazy too, for more people.

Moderators--look at Privacy optionsSender filters and scroll down to the bottom and pick "discard" for "Action to take for postings from non-members for which no explicit action is defined." and "no" for "Should messages from non-members, which are automatically discarded, be forwarded to the list moderator?"

Jon, it's here which is linked to from the links page, core Buffista site section, described thusly:

New in town? Looking for like-minded Buffistas in your new locale? Join a local Buffista mailing list! Currently there are lists for Somerville/Boston, Baltimore/DC, LA, Bay Area, Texas, and Halifax. You can get information about joining any of these list

Our wings are not tired

Why are the lists getting spammed at all? Where have their email addresses been posted?

At one point the complete contents of one of the lists turned up in a google search. I believe that hole got plugged, but the address could have been harvested.

Yeah, here's the link to that discussion, looks like it was fixed at the time, but it could be the initial source of these issues.

That and all the email addresses (eta:list, not members) are one link away from the page I posted.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Moderators--look at Privacy optionsSender filters and scroll down to the bottom and pick "discard" for "Action to take for postings from non-members for which no explicit action is defined." and "no" for "Should messages from non-members, which are automatically discarded, be forwarded to the list moderator?"

I agree with this solution.

Cool.

Jesse--due to bugs there are three entries on the links page to amazon, to two different addresses--how is it that you wanted them displayed?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, no. But my computer here at work is literally trying to kill me, so I'll need to figure it out from home.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Okay, twice now this morning, I have had the "Post Message" button dump me onto page one of whatever thread I was in (once in Natter, once in Bitches), and not process the post. I had to go back to the post page and hit the Post button again (thank you, text-saving Safari browser!) to make my posts.

And the board has been running agonizingly slow for me for several days. I know, this is useless information, but it's all I've got -- something seems to be wrong with the board (this weird Post Message behavior, if nothing else), but I don't know what else to say when I'm not getting helpful error messages.
