All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Quoting ita:

It has no connection datawise to this site, so you'd have to re-register.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bringing up www.buffistas.net is an interesting exercise. To go from nothing to barebones requires running 137K or so of SQL, copying over a few folders of PHP files, and some unfortunate klutzing because I haven't yet written code to create thread folders. But it's not *that* bad. Not good enough that I'd feel comfortable sharing it with other people (and certainly not before it's optimised), but it's not entirely wires and trauma and drama on the back end.

But I've let the queries get out of hand, and that has to be reined in. Also, I'd like to retool the DB structure so each thread has its own table--that way Other Media is less impacted by Natterish craziness.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

People don't read Press? I mean that seriously--I'm assuming that if I want folks to know something technical that affects the whole board that that's the spot where the news goes.

I do! I went back in and reset it to remember after your post, so now it shows remember me as checked but does not actually, you know, remember. I just tried Jon's suggestion of checking no, saving, then rechecking yes and saving. Closed the browser window, opened a new one and nada. Still not remembering.

I guess it just hates you, then.

Uh, more seriously, can you put it up on bugtracker? I've never gotten the bug to bug for me, so I can't describe it right.

I can if you can tell me how.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If you click on the link in the thread header it should let you create a (completely independent) bugtracker ID and present you with a metric buttload of fields to fill out. It's a relatively simple way to consolidate stuff that gets mentioned here, and it does nag at me.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

How many GB/month are we doing?
