Buffistas Building a Better Board ++
Do you have problems, concerns, or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.
IIRC, we've been back and forth on it before and went with "it's easier for the user to manually open something in a new tab/window than to not if they want it in the same window."
except in the iPhone, you can't copy a link and open in new page. Not sure if that problem exists with other mobile browsing devices/OS's.
Most other mobile devices don't have tabbed browsing anyway, so it's not an issue.
apple should fix the browser so double tapping a link opens a new tab. Oh yes.
I'm having a weird problem on Firefox-- the board is not letting me sign in. It signed me out when I closed Firefox this morning, and when I go to the log in screen and enter in my info, it just bounces me back to the "public" version. I tried it several times, using the same password that works on Safari, so I pretty sure it is not that.
Suzi did sign me out so she could sign in on my computer the other day, so I am guessing it's related, but I do have remember me checked, and cookies are enabled.
eta: This is the only place that happens.
Any ideas?
eta again: Never mind. I disabled/erased/reset just about everything, and then put it all back, and something in there worked.
Blaming me?!?!? Hey, you logged back in after I checked mine - at least once - over the weekend.
I was experiencing extreme slowness-to-deadness from the threads (but not from the board itself) and then got the following error:

There has been an error. It's of the type we call fatal. Please don't be scared. You're not the one that's going to die.

Restarting mysqld helped a little, but the server is still very, very slow.
Test.
