Up with the sun

I don't even like fried chicken, yet ... I can't deny the chicken/waffle appeal. Throw in that mac and cheese? OH GOD OH GOD MY GOD.

See, I like fried chicken, and I like waffles, but the idea of them being on the same plate just disturbs me. (Also, maple syrup + fried chicken = ew, in my head.) But I might try it, should it be offered, for lo! I am adventurous.

Mac & cheese, though, is a dealbreaker. It's one of those foods I decided I didn't like when I was five, and every time I try some I decide I'm still right. I agree that adding broccoli -- say, a 75-25 ratio of noodles to broccoli -- would make it more edible. Also, the noodles should be spirals or penne, because I hate the way macaroni looks.

Hi, I'm a freak.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Matt, you have not actually had naan, I'm afraid.

I swear, I don't think I've ever had bread that I didn't like, even the weird Himalayan steamed bun that was basically flavorless.

But often they aren't on the same plate. Sometimes they are, but usually we get chicken + gravy on one plate and the waffle on the other.

Carb slut. It's amazing you were able to stick to the high protein diet.

I think Matt needs a naan intervention. I love naan when it is crisp out of the tandoor.Mmm... I want Indian food now.

What Dana said. They should lock people up for calling something like that "naan".

True for me as well. The ethiopian crepe-y tortilla things did give me pause for a bit, but I decided I liked them after all.

That's why it's so good for me -- left to my own devices, I will eat 90% carbs. And 10% cheese.

That completely changes my mental picture. I thought it was, like, a chicken/waffle sandwich. If they're on different plates, the waffle is like cornbread or a biscuit, just with little holes.

Perhaps it's different elsewhere, but the naan that's available at two restaurants here is not unlike a gray, droopy sponge that's been sliced into wafer-thin servings.

Yeah, that's REALLY bad naan. The naan I've had is delicious, not unlike a slightly thinner warm pita bread.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Somebody should deny her Roscoe's for a little while until someone can film this for posterity.

Then push her nose.

Hey! Now my nose itches, I hope you're happy.

Naan does sound good. Plei, wanna go get Indian food this weekend. Want Pete & I to bring you Indian food this weekend?
