Natter 37: Oddly Enough, We've Had This Conversation Before.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ugh. It's 99 degrees outside. I'm sucking down water like it's going out of style, and I have no desire for food, (even though it's past 2 and I'm getting pretty hungry).
This is made worse by the fact that we really have nothing to eat in the house, and I'm going to have to go out for either lunch or groceries at some point. Maybe I'll walk over to the organic market and just get some fruit. Fruit is cool and refreshing. I could make a smoothie.
It's 99 degrees outside.
Looks like it's 57 and foggy outside my back door.
JZ got up at the asscrack of dawn this morning to go to the first Faire workshop of the season. She's Queen of Dipthongs during the workshops and gets to recalibrate all the vowels for period effect.
I've watched Blood: The Last Vampire on TiVo. I'm suspecting it was more a pilot than an actual movie since it was an hour and didn't explain much of anything about the characters. It did look great though, with lots of nicely rendered 3-D effects.
I've had a (wee) almond scone heated up and slathered with clotted cream and lemon curd. Not enough. Might have to make a little egg burrito for a protein hit.
I feel like I should alert Jesse and kat perez that they're showing a Doug E. Fresh video on VH-1 Classic.
Yesterday I'm told it was 98 with 94% humidity. Today is the same.
Since I can't get an a/c unit that works in my apartment, I got a dehumidifier that does, because half of the ook is how sodden it gets inside. Sodden at 80 is unpleasant.
It's actually helping. But in the last 18 hours it has sucked 30 pts of water from the air. This scares me. Where's the fog?
I need to escape in a bit. But that will require using the hairdryer and uuuhhhng.
I am actually cold this am . there is a predicted hight of 90 where I work - but of 73 here. It is still about 60 here. However, I do not wish to trade with Jessica
ok - the person I was talking to is a texas BBQ person. She had no ideas of the variety of sauces
and she means beef
so she didn't even go the the pulled or chopped pork debate.
and I didn't even know why people liked BBQ so much 'til I had a vinegar based sauce...
Though I like sweetish red sauces for chicken - but I don't know if chiken really counts.
I have kind of a stupid question. the only bill I don't have set up for online bill pay is my rent, which is kinda dumb as it is the bill I'm most likely to forget because they don't mail me a handy envelope saying, "yo dumbass, rent is due!"
I've had a couple narrow misses.
But all my other bills are just there in the computer, and so I assume they receive payment electronically. Do they mail my landlord a check? How does that work?
yup - that is wht they do if they don't have a way of getting efunds. and it works - but it takes a couple days longer.
Citibank mails my landlord a check. Your bank probably does too, because check-mailing allows them to debit your account days, if not weeks, before the check is cashed.
That's the other side of the coin, though; you have to allow your bank to debit your account with enough time to mail the check. So if you get paid on the 1st, you might have it debited on the 28th every month, which cuts it close for some people. It's balancing the risk of forgetting to pay your rent with the risk of being short by the 28th.
Looks like it's 57 and foggy outside my back door.
