This weekend I watched the new SG-1, Atlantis, and read HP6. I did not watch BSG because I'm resisting new shows like whoa, and until Dana traps me in her house and shows me the DVDs, it ain't happening.

But I'm kind of cranky and discussed-out already on all of them, because fandom is large with the wank. Or possibly I just need more coffee.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm coming down with a cold. I've lost my appetite, congested, sore throat, sensitive ears, and most startlingly, am having a bit of a job keeping down my breakfast. Which was tea and vitamins.

AND I go to Montreal on Wednesday.

Not happy.

I guess I should take a sick day -- no, better to work from home I guess, but I hate phrasing these things.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Poor sick ita. I often find vitamins nauseating, myself.

I am glad to be in air conditioning, but the fact that it's at work is slightly less exciting. Why can't I be in the movies instead?? And I have a zillion faxes to send, each of which needs a cover sheet. Stoopid work!!!

Oh, also? WTF with the crazy hurricanes all in a row?

If every day had chapter headings, this would be today's.

I had the best summery wekeend though. I basically went to the pool, read books, ate ice cream, slept.

Nap. Nap a lot, ita.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I managed to get big blisters on my big toes yesterday. Walking now sucks. I found myself wishing I had taken a bus for the three block distance to the train station.

ita, take lots of vitimin C. Ignore all the talk about it not doing any good, as you ruin the placebo effect that way. Anyway, I hope you feel better by Wednesday.

That does sound good. I went to the beach on Saturday! Which rocked, although I would have stayed much longer than the rest of the family. Now THAT's summer.

NO SHIT. My poor mother had to cut short her NY trip to make sure Emily (the e-mail confused me initially) didn't stop her getting back to JA so she could still make her trip to Croatia. I'm now having weather.com-featuring dreams about my island being wiped off the map. It can stop.

I think I'm going to nap once I've written the e-mail to my boss. Something like:

I'm feeling pretty ill right now, but I hope to be able to work from here in an hour or two. Please send me the phone number of the conference room for the 3pm meeting, so I can dial in for that.

And then I'll wake up and get to work.

I had a mixed weekend, but I think that in the end I do have to rate it highly.

ita, take lots of vitimin C

Check. Also hydration, right? I'm so freaking parched. Thanks for the well-wishing.

Coding and Sleeping

Also hydration, right?

Drink plenty of fluids, that's what everyone is supposed to say for everything. Hope you feel better soon.
