It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

So.

Anyone up?

I'm up.

I'm so tired that I think I'm starting to see things, and yet I'm awake.

I've been out of my sleepless bed for at least 20 minutes, but the clock doesn't seem to have moved. Huh.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am. Just got back from a nice dinner with JohnSweden, Sparky1 and Deb.

How's it with you, apart from the not sleeping, which is of the suck.

Gah.

Huh.

What?

Sorry you can't sleep, Dana. Neither can I. Am considering a hot bath....

I'm not sure I remember.

Oh, right, it's stressful. Which may be linked to the not sleeping.

Actually, it was tax-free weekend here, so husband and I actually spent all day shopping. I kind of hate shopping, but I got a bunch of cool new clothes and a new pair of sandals.

How was dinner?

Sorry about the stressful.

Dinner was very yummy. We went for Afghan food in the city, then went for coffee in North beach.

Is tax-free weekend a city/county/state thing, or were individual stores doing it?

It's a back to school thing, so various types of goods are exempt from tax. The crowds, as you can imagine, were insane. Christmas-type insane.

I would think so, yes. You are very brave for going out in that.
