Hot here today, but I made a fabulous discovery. You know how you get in the habit of going certain directions down certain streets? When I take the dog to the park we always go south. Today, because we were already going that way to drop my sister off at the bus stop, we ended up taking the path north. And it turns out, about three blocks distance north, there is a dog beach! There isn't even a people beach in walking distance. So Lucy got to romp and swim with a bunch of other dogs, and I got to wade in the water. It's in the harbor, not the lake, so the water is nice and cool but not bone-chilling like the lake is. I can't believe I didn't know about this.

Of course, then I had Disgusto the Sand Monster roaming the apartment, but I think it's worth it. We may have to go back tomorrow.

Going back a bit... this cracked me up:

Teppy: (whispering) Folks, I've been to Hec's place -- don't be intimidated by the profiles -- it's mostly misguided rantings scribbled on the backs of receipts and paper plates, with an occasional "Size Queen" or "Likes Country Music" wedged in between his plans to replace the National Anthem with something by The Archies.

Hec: Hey! That is my filing system. Everybody uses paper plates, right?

Teppy: Not ones with identifiable thai food still stuck to them...

Hec: Okay, now I see where you're confused. See, the peanut sauce is part of the coding system.

Teppy: What about the mold growing on the plates? Is that part of the coding system, too?

Hec: Have you never worked in an office before? I learned about filing mold back before carbon paper dating.

Okay, let me school you, junior. Short answer: No, mold is not part of the coding system. You need to lubricate your paper plates properly, otherwise when you stack them with combustible information the friction could ignite your synchro-circular files. Having you ever tried filing peanut sauce ashes? T'ain't pretty.

Okay, the thing about the CRISS ANGEL MINDFREAK commercials is that they keep making me think of that CSI episode.

Also the new commercial, with the hooks, squicks me even in FF.

Nic( deb's DH) and DH are sawing wood for tables. I think the plan is to make and sell cherry end or coffe tables and maybe finace the guitar building thing. Or justify the tools they have built. Or improve thier woodworking skills. or make sawdust.

But I just fed them Alton Brown's roast chicken recipe. for Flavor, moistness and quickness - it is a winner. next time, the grill

Also, I spent last night plastering and today scraping woodwork and OMIGOD do I ache.

I spent today doing nothing and then going to a wedding. Instead of a receiving line, the bride and groom "dismissed" each row out of the church which was nice.
