Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Speaking of covers (we were, weren't we?), they just played a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody on the radio. The DJ still hasn't revealed who the artist was, but I think it was a waste of time.

Bohemian Rhapsody isn't about sex, is it?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. Now I know who, but can we ever know why?

Huh.

DJ finally talked. It was the Flaming Lips. I usually like them. But their version was too close to the sound of the original, but not as good.

He also played a clip of Joss Stone doing Under Pressure. I wouldn't say it was better (than the original), but not worse either. Definitely different.

Huh. There's also a version out now by My Chemical Romance and The Used that's actually okay.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I haven't heard any of these, but I think I'm opposed to covers of "Under Pressure" on principle.

I am too, and I'm slightly aghast at myself for liking the Used/MCR cover.

It's so very different that it really feels like a different song at first. All of these, by the way, were on a Queen tribute album that's apparently either soon to be or very recently released.

Ah, yes. That's the well known, but apparently sadly seldom adhered to Vanilla Ice Sampling Principle.
