Couldn't have been. It was MTV all the time.
The original S&M one with people in cages or the boring light show one?

Same character, I think. "Holly came from Miami, F. L. A./Thought s/he (?) was James Dean for a day/Plucked etc...." is how it goes, I'm pretty sure.
Nope. Jackie was just speedin' away / Thought she was James Dean for a day....

Yeah. The song also emphasises the importance of having a downer, such as Valium, to help out after an amphetemine binge.
This is a Melanie song?
I have to admit, the only version I've ever heard is by Rasputina. Assuming we're talking about the same song, which I think we are.
Thanks, Sean, I'd forgotten that verse entirely.
Ugh. 97 degrees here in Boston. It's supposed to get back into the 60s tonight, but I'm not buying it yet.
Oh well - if the humidity is to be believed, it's a dry heat. Feh.
I saw that Rasputina covered it, when I was googling. I think I have to hear that version.
He kissed me in a way that I've never been kissed before
Oooh, THAT way.Oh, everyone cut it out. They didn't mean that.

I don't know. I thought there was NO air, when I went outside (against my will) earlier. But a little while ago, I let Chris back out, because he'd left his hobby horse and cowboy hat in the yard. As opposed to the deathly, heavy air this morning, there's quite a breeze now. This might be an actual instance of what I think of as the mythical dry heat.
Then again, at 97, it still sucks. Ovens have dry heat, too.

Perzactly. Not going out until I'm leaving, and, luckily I've got a thing with friends that will keep me in AC for a while (once I get there).
I just hope closing up my place in Salem when it was 76 this morning has kept it a bit cooler then the outside temp.
You know, the liner notes to some blues album I used to have implied that the line "Pig meat is what I crave" was dirty dirty dirty. I've never understood what it was supposed to mean.
I always liked "If You See Kay" because she was "Built up like a Coca-Cola bottle".
