I read that Bush is going on a 5 week vacation, his 49th vacation as president. Nice work if you can get it.
They mentioned in the Globe that when this one's over, he'll almost have beaten Reagan (the most recent record holder) for vacation time taken during a presidency, with 2.5 years left to go.
I got all caught up in the shuttle repair.
I didn't watch any of the footage - did they just pull the stuff out? Or did they have to saw it off?

I'd actually be OK with him saying he was working from Texas at a time like now when Congress is out for the month, but just to be on vacation? Must be nice.

Well, you know, he's brought various world leaders and such down there to TX, and I'm sure Condi's not on vacation, so you'd think he could get some stuff done.
I've never heard that one. I don't think it would bother me any more than Have a nice day. Hokey bothers me, but nice intentions don't. Then again, it doesn't bother me when (at other places) people sign their posts to me with "Blessed be," either.

Nyegh. Although when I've heard that, I've mentally interpreted it as "blessed be", which leads me to Willow's "wanna-blessed-bes" snark, and then I go about my merry amused way.
