Now that we've discussed people praying for you, how do we feel about someone saying "have a blessed day"?
Or is that a DC thing (cause I never heard it before I was here)

Well, you know, he's brought various world leaders and such down there to TX, and I'm sure Condi's not on vacation, so you'd think he could get some stuff done.
I've never heard that one. I don't think it would bother me any more than Have a nice day. Hokey bothers me, but nice intentions don't. Then again, it doesn't bother me when (at other places) people sign their posts to me with "Blessed be," either.

Nyegh. Although when I've heard that, I've mentally interpreted it as "blessed be", which leads me to Willow's "wanna-blessed-bes" snark, and then I go about my merry amused way.

That's true, it's not like the important people in the administration are on vacation.

I've never heard that.
Although I'd be tempted to ask, "You mean, in a Jesus way, or a goddess way?"
Or else I'd say, "I'm not a cheesemaker!"

There used to be an old lady who lived across the street from my cousin's house in NO. Everytime we passed she would tell us "God bless you." We called her the god bless you lady. Never bothered either of us. It seemed like sort of a "have a nice day/safe passage on your way" sort of thing, and it was nice.

Feels the same to me as someone saying "have a nice day".
From their reports, it seems the plane landed okay, but then couldn't brake.
Oh my god, this is totally my flying nightmare. How awful.
"Have a blessed day" kind of irks me, depending on context, but honestly, the people saying it are generally lovely and mean well. Unless I'm at work, then I'm all HULK SMASH. Like the time I got the email from HR about appropriate work email ettiquette.... with her Bible sig at the bottom. Argh.
