"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

And what kind of crappy acronym is this anyway?

Global SA(V)E vs. Global WoT. See, they are going to SAVE the world from terror....errr...extremism, comma, violent. How? By blowing the shit out of it, naturally.

Anyway, timelies. Had an apalling weekend. Took Friday and Monday off, so I could run a bunch of errands Friday, and head up to Maine Sat-Mon. I got the errands done (just), but unfortunately, I woke up Saturday feeling crappy, plus the friend I was hoping would be up in Maine couldn't go, so I bailed on that. Decided I'd meet said friend for brunch on Sunday. Unfortunately, I woke up Sunday feeling even worse (after sleeping something like 10 hours - at least 2-4 too much for me) so even that didn't happen. I got next to no sleep last night, so I took the day anyway, even though I probably should have just gone into work. And of course, now it's not even a nice day out, even though I'm feeling better, if tired.

Oh well, I got the new Harry Potter finished, at least. I've had less productive 4 day weekends, sadly.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Atkins files for Chapter 11.

Not surprised. The diet is dandy, but their products all taste crappy. If there is an Atkins version of something low-carb and a non-atkins version ALWAYS get the non-atkins.

Is there any answer other than 'Billy Idol' that actually interests you?

No, actually, there isn't, and I happily admit to scoping out the security setup between the crowd areas and the tour bus areas for possible avenues of approach.

Always Anti-fascist!

I want to save the world from Christian extremism, here, too then. I feel just as threatened by it. Maybe even more, cause I understand, linguistically anyway, what they say.

What is even happening?

I think Hec is right about SM2.
Does anyone else read "SM2" and at first expect to see some news of a SMG bot?

Always Anti-fascist!

A little bit, yeah.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm pleased that Plei, Raq and I are in agreement. Makes me feel validated.

ALSO, Ewan kissing like a 16 year old? My heart would break. But maybe I'll fanwank that to mean he kissed with the unbridled enthusiasm and staggering joie de vivre as a 16.y.o. Cause 16.y.o. who are just getting some can kiss with the passion of a thousand suns.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

IMDB's "news" is always poor on context, but Scarlett has the whole grave-snatcher thing on her resume, so it makes it easy to assume she was being critical, even if not actually sniping.

She only has herself to blame - she passed on a more seasoned and mature (well, in years anyway) leading man quite recently. Why, she could be arriving at premieres on motorcycles and giving interviews to W Magazine about her engagement right now if she hadn't been so choosy!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

ALSO, Ewan kissing like a 16 year old

Well. his character is supposed to have not only never kissed before, he's not even supposed to know what kissing IS. Acting, folks.

move out and draw fire

Just got the bill for one month of DSL: $275.00. I may be around a little less in the future.

Ah well, between baby and working out and cooking, the internet was eating up all my project time anyway.
