Reavers ain't men. Or they forgot how to be. Now they're just nothing. They got out to the edge of the galaxy, to that place of nothing, and that's what they became.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Loner 94% Drama nerd 75% Geek 56% Punk/Rebel 31% Goth 31% Stoner 31% Prep/Jock/Cheerleader 25% Ghetto gangsta 6%

I suppose the loner bit is accurate, especially my first two years. Drama nerd fits more for the second half. Geek is completely appropriate, but punk/rebel is actually kind of funny. I was always impressed by the few goths I knew in college, but I don't think we really had any in high school. I went to two high schools, but both were quite homogenous middle class, very focused on arts and academics. And a lot of my friends were stoners, but I was completely square and a teetotaller.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

When will you be in Scotland Sheryl? Jealous

We're leaving Wed. night, and returning on the 14th. We're going for WorldCon, and staying a few more days to sightsee.(We'll be in Glasgow)

On the quiz I scored highest as Geek(80-something percent) followed by loner. The first was quite accurate(still is) the second not quite.(Not a loner by choice, really)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

dcp, wow, your senior high year was a lot more interesting than mine!

I saw roadrunners today. Running on the road! Away from my car!!!

Note: they do not go "beep beep."

[edited to make whom I was addressing evident]

Second post of the day, and it's about food again. I've had a rocking food day. (There was sea salt on the tomato/feta omelette this morning, by the way. Mmmm. Sea salt.)

For dinner I had, wow, some amazing mozzarella wrapped with a slice of prosciutto plus yummy tomatoes and basil in balsamic/oil. The cheese was so. good. Oh, man. Delish. The entree was veal - good but nothing to exclaim about. But the dessert. Creme brulee cheesecake. I didn't choose it, and I didn't really think it would work for some reason. I was very wrong. It was just... creamy/sweet perfection, a lovely, balanced blend of two perfectly lovely desserts. And the crust. Don't know what it was, but I think I fell in love a little.

Also, the restaurant, which is new - first time there - is about five minutes from home. Mwah-ha-ha.

***

The quiz said I was 63% punk/rebel. I really just was not.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

senior high year

The upside was that I didn't have to have a room-mate the rest of the semester. Perfect for a loner like myself.

Roadrunners are neat. And quick. I've never managed to get a good picture of one.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Drama nerd 69%

Geek 44%

Prep/Jock/Cheerleader 44%

Punk/Rebel 31%

Goth 25%

Loner 19%

Ghetto gangsta 19%

Stoner 6%

I love that "Geek" and "Prep/Jock/Cheerleader" tied for second place. Also, "Drama Nerd" should probably be more along the lines of "Arts Nerd."

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I saw roadrunners today. Running on the road! Away from my car!!!

So very cool! I once had a coyote cross the road in front of my car, but no roadrunners. I know which I'd prefer.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Anybody here?

See Nutty worry needlessly. Worry needlessly, Nutty, worry needlessly!

I have packed much, and then got fed up with it and have several mostly-organized piles for morning. Due to Flatmate Space-Cadetry, I ended up packing and cleaning the vast majority of the public space (especially kitchen). Thus I feel justified in forgetting to handle any of the bills being transferred till, you know, today.

The dust bunnies are legion. Nothing like moving to bring out one's obsessive-comulsive traits. That goes double when Careful Bob the Muppet is one's new landlord, a man who wears his anal cleanliness on his sleeve. I think I foresee renaming Careful Bob as Scooter, what do you think?

The Red Sox game is in the 7th now, and all game long the broadcasters gaga about a potential Manny trade. Very irritating. At least we are winning (knock wood). The pitcher on the mound is Chad Bradford, a guy who looks like he is skipping rocks rather than pitching baseballs, and with a name like that he always earworms me with the rhyme about Yon Yohnson who lives in Wisconsin.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Anybody here?

No.

Also, you're going from creepy basement Bob to careful muppet Bob? I presume that's an improvement.
