Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wonder about the ventilation of the apartments around me. At least two on my floor have been running AC all night. Me, in a tank and boxers, I'm a wee bit chilled, but at least I didn't have to wear socks to bed last night.

I know I run hot, but not that much. I must be lucky with the cross ventilation.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy Birthday, Kat!

I'm lucky in my apartment. Since it's a wee small little hermit's cave of a place, it's relatively cheap and easy to cool. It was 98F yesterday, and I left the AC off all day, but kept the blinds closed and it was nearly comfortable when I got home. I just had to run the AC for about a few hours until the temperature dropped for the night.

My folks didn't have a summer cottage. But then we lived in a smallish town right next to the north end of Lake Huron. When you can bike to the beach from your house anyway, a summer cottage on a lake is kind of redundant. Since retirement, they've talked about getting a cottage on one of the smaller MI lakes for the summer, but Mom's cancer has probably put paid to that plan. At the moment I'm dreaming of owning a first home, so summer or winter cottages are rather out of reach.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh yeah, space shuttle. Anyone have a link for live coverage? One that won't crap out under the load moments before launch?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Happy Birthday, Kat!!!

And yes, Teppy, that's the one in the Ferry Building.

Yum. As I remember, it was quite good.

ION, gonna be 100 again here today. I am SO over this weather.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I have tasted good produce for the first time in ages. I'll pay more for fruits and veggies that taste like, like, fruits and veggies. I don't care if they're not the perfect shade of red or yellow or green. I don't care if I have to cut off bruised bits.

Welcome to the yummy side. I love organic/"natural" food.

Weather has finally broken here, as well. I was kind of chilly on my walk to the bus stop, and it was glorious.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I was just outide. If it was noon early afternoon-ish, it would be really nice out. But for 10 am, I just know it's going to get hellacious.

I bought organic maple syrup in Montreal. In fact, I bought three sorts, and will taste test in short order. Mmm.

You know when someone waves at you, and it's not really you, it's the person behind you they're communicating with? I was on the waver side of that yesterday, so now there's this guy who may be wondering "ita likes me how much?" when really I was overacting for the dork behind him.

I have a link, but unfortunately, I can't share it. It's internal.

My a/c ran all day and night. Because it SUCKS.

I have a headache. But I don't think it is hunger this time. I think all the crap air quality that comes with this kind of blast furnace is getting to me. It sometimes does. Not supposed to break until thursday. I may be freezing some towels.

They are now saying 100F. It is currently 82 with 70% humidity. Grrrng.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The Museum of Food Anomalies

There should be a whole page just for happy faces, so you can recover from the freaky shit. Says me.

I wish it were lunch time. Alas, I guess it's work time, but bleh. Who wants to work?
