What is even happening?

He clerked for Rehnquist. He left a high-powered law firm to work for Ken Starr.

Fred, was he working for Starr during the Clinton-hunt, or prior to?

I kind of wish she wouldn't.

I would feel a little uneasy about the prospect of the 43rd President being the son of the 41st and then the 44th President being the wife of the 42nd.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Plus, the wife of the 41st President considers the 42nd president to be like a son....

He clerked for Rehnquist.

I kinda wonder if there might a strategy of replace O'Conner with someone more in the mold of Rehnquist and then replace Rehnquist with someone more in the mold of Scalia. That would move the court a lot to the right but wouldn't be as dramatic as replacing O'Conner with a hard line right winger.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Prior to, Cindy. When Starr was the Solicitor General, '89-'93.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hillary is losing points with me with this Grand Theft Auto BS. Did she learn nothing from Tipper?

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Are Hillary and Bill still married? Why did I think they were separated or divorced?

Thrive to spite them

I like Hillary and I think she'd make a good President, but I think it would be horrible if she ran. I can only imagine how bad the smear campaign would be against her.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I would feel a little uneasy about the prospect of the 43rd President being the son of the 41st and then the 44th President being the wife of the 42nd.

This. I'm really uncomfortable with the dynastic thing. Plus, I think she can do more valuable work in the Senate -- I'd rather have her building ideas and policies and coalitions than serving the public-symbol role, which she just doesn't do as well.

(Or maybe I'm just cranky because the presidency obviously belongs to secret political boyfriend Obama)

This, too. Bah.

I can't imagine how nasty the 2008 election will get if Hillary is the Dem canidate.
