I'm not evil again. Why does everyone think that?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I don't think Roe will be overturned. I can't see the justification at this point. It depends on a dubious interpretation of the Constitution-- that much is true, and so the Rust brief wasn't too far off the mark-- but it's been such a part of the Court's jurisprudence that it's practically cemented now.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I don't think Roe will be overturned.

I'm less confident. Although if Roe is overruled, liberals will be more galvanized than in a long time.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, which is why many conservatives are wary....

Not the far-right Christians, though.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I see ominous black clouds to the north. Ooohhhh.... Spooky.

If I only had a brain...

Far-right Christians don't like Griswold v. Connecticut one little bit. That's the one that created/recognized "the penumbra of privacy". It made *contraception* legal.

I don't think Scalia does, either.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Southern Illinois is a little scary to me....

Growing up on the dividing line between "Southern" Illinois and Chicagoland was an interesting experience. My parents made it a point to take us into the city at least a few times a year, and raised us to be interested in the political shenanigans of Council Wars, etc., in stark contrast to how they were raised on the farms that typify "Downstate." OTOH, many of our friends and classmates were raised to view the city with suspicion and to avoid it at all costs.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

So, all the NC talk made me want to ask a question. I was just in the Triangle area and really liked it. So much so that I've been talking to the GF about the possibility of living there. Would gay girls get bad treatment in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area? Mind you, the only peeps who'd probably really know would be our neighbors as most people don't peg us as gay on sight. Anyway, what are your perceptions?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Mostly I'm a little dejected about the state of my job hunt, and looking for things I can do above and beyond tossing cover letters and resumes into the ether. So I thought I'd look into whether getting an MLS would be a useful career move. And it's looking kinda positive, so apparently I'm not totally dead-ended at 37. Which is reassuring.

Calli, except for the MLS thing, I'm right there with you.

Since my cat's name is Jeeves, I did quite the double-take when I saw your post.
