No, just more conservative than me, and didn't seem to get that I couldn't be persuaded with more Bible verses.
Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
ah.
Susan, you might ask at UW if there is a listserv or something where you could make an inquiry about a temporary nanny share or other care. My university has a Parents' List, and the Libraries have their own list for questions like these.
Hello, Bitches!
Susan, it takes time and patience. It will be alright. Be methodical and persistent and you will find something. There are a lot of options but they have to all be pursued at the same time.
That's on the website Plei mentioned, Sparky--I can't access the list as a potential employee, since you need a current UW ID, but I forwarded the link to DH.
I know a few people with current UW IDs who could post something for you. The department you're interviewing with might also have something -- the one here for the Libraries is much smaller and we tend to know each other so answers come more quickly.
Susan, one of my friends has been doing a nanny share arrangement for her daughter. I don't know exactly what it costs, but it can't be that much (she and her husband are both grad students.) Might be worth looking into.
flea has been doing a nanny share arrangement for Casper for a while now -- you could ask her how that's working out.
So I guess my plan of attack is as follows:
1. Get name on waiting list of every legit yet somewhat affordable daycare near our house or UW that I can find.
2. Talk to neighbor to see if she'd be willing to be temporary daycare until we can come up with other options.
3. Look into nanny share option.
4. Look into other SAHMs from church (given that neighbor is having a baby around Thanksgiving and presumably can't do this indefinitely).
5. If I have a job offer in hand and still don't have anything lined up, start hitting all those "nanny looking for work" and "SAHM looking to offer childcare" ads in craigslist.
Susan, also just tell everyone you know that you are looking for childcare.
Stephanie! Congratulations! Yay!
