I wonder if any guy has ever been asked "Do you take this woman" and just replied "You know, I'd thought so, but after seeing the way she was over getting this day ready, I just don't know if I can live like that."
This would be a great opening scene for a film.
dw and Susan are cute. So are Andi and Dan, Hec and JZ, and Nora and Tom, though I haven't seen Tom about so much lately. Not to mention MM and Aimee. Hon, I know you'll be glad when this wedding is over and done. I'm so sorry it's being so stressful for you.
Lyra, that was one of the loveliest bridal portraits I've seen. The dress and veil are beautiful, and you are radiant and oh so happy. Beautiful picture, thank you for sharing it. After the praise of Jess' wedding dress, I'd love to see a picture, if there's one available.
(((Sassy))) It sounds like you're about due for an upturn of fortune. Wishing one for you.
Cass, I'm so glad you got the maddening insurance stuff straightened out. After all the work you did beforehand it was just so disheartening that it all went pear-shaped anyway.
But it's straight now, and you've seen the doctor, and the PT person, and you have the good drugs, and movies, and a comfy couch. Settle in and let the back get better.
Oh, billytea. Actuarial charm and risque humor. What would we do without you?
Normally I get accused of risque charm and actuarial humour.
Give me a big red button and I shall poke at it to see what happens.
Well, that's blabbed all
my
bedroom secrets.
The cats woke me up, fighting. Since 4am I have given them both time-outs, twice. I have noticed that there are lights on in the garage of the house the nice neighbors moved out of a couple weeks ago. I heard some weird sounds coming from the driveway - distinctly small animal rather than potential human intruder.

ETA: Small animal noises from driveway? Not so much an exterior small animal as an interior bat. Harvey came trotting into the bedroom a while ago, with it in his mouth. He was proudly growling over his catch. I woke Daniel - mostly in the faint hopes that the bat was still alive and might need to be caught again. Had I realized it was an ex-bat, I could have dealt with it alone. Heh. Could have, for certain. Might still have chosen to be girly and wake up the man to handle it.
They had the sweetest news story last night. I ONLY watch local news when we have a hurricane, because normally it is only violent crime or car crashes. But now it is all stormy stuff.
So they were showing people on the beaches doing turtle rescue. There were all these itty bitty baby turtles that were stuck in seaweed and not strong enough to battle the rough waves. They were gathering them to hold at the wildlife reserve until after the hurricane. When the seas are normal again they will release the little cuties.
It was all kinds a cute.

Lots of people tried to talk BIL into doing this after listening to his about to be bride screaming outside the church. She was screaming at the top of her lungs that it was her wedding and things would be done her way. Alas, he went through with it and we have listened to her scream in the same manner for the last 10 years. Sometimes it is a clue of what's to come.
I've been threadsucking for recipes. I've found tantalizing mentions of some but no specifics:
Hil talking about her grandmother's recipes
I'll see what I can do with those. I've got one or two that I think I can write down. Most of the rest are either still in German and untested with modern ingrediants or just way too vague for anyone who hasn't seen it made to be able to reproduce it.
I felt Oh So Tired last night and went to sleep and could not get comfortable. Woke up this morning all dizzy and yucky and took my temp and, sure enough, a fever of 101. Not so bad, except we are supposed to drive up the coast to see the BF's family today. We rented a car and everything and haven't seen his parents in months and I just don't feel up to it. Bleagh, I hate being the wet blanket.
The recipes were tough. I ended up sending a few that I had in handwritten form that were given to me by family and friends. I don't cook by recipe as such.
I love my vast collection of cookbooks and I enjoy reading through so many recipe databases on line. I almost never follow a recipe as written though. I take what sounds good from several and do my own thing.
My friends and family insist that I am a wonderful cook, and I enjoy feeding people I love. The best kitchen creations have resulted from whatever I had on hand at the moment, not a list of ingredients.

I'm sorry you are feeling ucky. You really don't want to share your bug with loved ones. You may feel like wet blanket, but it's a better plan to stay home.
