Sooner or later, you're gonna want it. And the second — the second — that happens, you know I'll be there. I'll slip in, have myself a real good day.

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

It's one thing to be hanging out and holding a conversation with Dave Barry; it's an intimate setting. It's another to be packed into a stadium with 20,000 screaming fans. What gets my goat is that they're not attending the afternoon wedding, ostensibly because of the concert. Lisa was right, regretfully decline and leave it at that.

Well, the Stones concert is probably a once-in-a-lifetime last chance to see sort of thing. Dave Barry, OTOH, at least for the people in question, was not, so I think it evens out. While I agree it's boneheaded of them to not just regretfully decline, I can understand why they mentioned it, because they probably thought it was nicer of them to explain. @@

They should, I feel, send you one hell of a nice gift to make up for their priorities. But that's just my sense of what's right talking. (I got a place setting in my china.)

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

On this, we agree!*

*Lest anyone think I am related to Aimee's MOH from hell, I'd much rather have them there than sending us a kickass gift.

Silly people. Yes, they should have just regretfully declined.

Always Anti-fascist!

I would go to both if I could and have a Hectic Best Day Ever.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Mmm...maybe not. Those guys seem to want to keep going. I think they should have retired to their money forts with their supermodel girlfriends a looooong time ago.

My brother in law skipped our wedding because he was *suppose* to take his race car to a track to race. It rained like hell and the race was cancelled. He still didn't come. Friends of ours that also raced said they'd make it if it rained. Sure enough, they pulled the race car trailer up in the church parking lot and changed into their formal wear in the trailer. They were cool. BiL, NSM.

I love Pampered Chef stuff but I've managed to avoid getting hooked so far. I doubt if I'll stay a Pampered Chef virgin my whole life though.

Yes, they should have just regretfully declined.

Yeah, assuming a Stones concert would be an acceptable excuse is pretty silly. Just say, sorry, can't make it and send a nice gift.

I used to sell the stuff...that's how much I loved it. I don't think I was annoying about it. But, anyway, the two times of the year when those catalogs come out are some of my favorite times. I haven't been buying much lately, 'cause there just isn't anywhere to put it. But, I still love the stuff.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

No impending bitter for me. I've got PLENTY of other things about which to be vitriolic.

Well, you DID go to law school...

Part of the reason I don't buy their stoneware cookware is because I KNOW that DH will use soap on it. No matter how many times I tell him not to. I know this because he's ruined three wooden cutting boards and the counter-balanced lid to my $100 stainless steel trash can by putting them in the dishwasher.

He thinks EVERYTHING goes in the dishwasher.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I doubt if I'll stay a Pampered Chef virgin my whole life though.

All it takes is the arrival of a pizza stone.

See above. I don't trust Christopher with the pizza stone. Although my sister has one and I covet it greatly.
