[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, the marvels of the large batter bowl...the barbie cake, the over-the-hill cake that I spared Emily of, the football cake, the perfect pancake bowl...actually, it's just plain the perfect bowl. Ah...the wonders of fabulous kitchen products.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Question for the hivemind: Do I have the right to be upset that someone is choosing the Rolling Stones concert in Hershey over our wedding on October 1?

I need a reality check.

Our wings are not tired

How close of a friend is it Maria?

Close family friend, Drew. I can understand not attending the evening reception, but I got the impression that they won't be attending the 2 pm wedding.

I don't understand why somebody would tell you why they were skipping your wedding. Why not just decline the invitation and send a gift? Telling you the reason is bound to lead to value judgement discussion.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

You'd think they could do both.

Exactly, Lisa. Why not leave me in the dark?

I mean you'd probably find out anyway (if they have connections to other people who are invited to the wedding) but why rub it in?

In happier wedding news, your shoes are SEXXXAY!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

They probably just want you to know that they have a prior engagement, or else they'd love to come.

Signed, my sisters in-laws missed my wedding because they were hanging with Dave Barry instead, and for once, I'm really not bitter.
