Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I took a look at the hotel restaurant prices for the shower/party on Saturday and the entrees were averaging around $30/each. I emailed the MoH and other bridesmaids and said, "That's a bit overboard to expect guests to spend on dinner. Let's go to restaurant X where it's a bit more reasonable."

Aimee, if I were a guest at said shower, I would kiss you for this.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I had a dream the other night that I went off on Bride.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Thanks, guys. I'm not close with my grandmother but this is going to be insanely difficult for my dad and aunts and uncles. I feel bad for all the "kids" losing their mom. Also, {{{Honey}}}.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Cass}}} I'm so sorry. If the company is the one that screwed up and the health coverage is in your contract, they should be covering your out of pocket expenses, imho.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

(Gloomcookie) I hope this time goes as comfortably and easily as possible for your grandmother and your family.

Bureaucratic-BS-maneuvering- without-making-your-head-explode- with-frustration-ma.
Thank you. BC/BS turned them down, they are appealing but I suspect it is not likely to change. But since I did have that whole benefits as part of my contract, I just offered to let them pay my COBRA for the three months. HR guy is out already but we'll see tomorrow... I think I offered them a nice way out.

I also just had to justify the time and billing on a JackAssDave's clients job that *he* was disputing. I save the hell out of email it seems. And my time was totally accounted for. His, OTOH, not so much. I might have snerked quietly.

If you'd like something to look forward to, want me to treat you to an ice cream sundae or something on Friday eve?
That sounds lovely actually.

You'd really think so... I am given them an easy way out, I think. They'd better jump and fast... My attitude is only going to get snarlier if my back doesn't get to go see a doctor soon.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Jesus, Aimee. The more you post about this, the more I want to smack them.

This event should be about her getting to hang out with girlfriends she likes and cares about, who like and care about her, and to share your excitement and good wishes for her as she's on the brink of this new chapter in her life. It should not be a fucking spendathon attempt to keep up with the Joneses.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

What Fay said. Also, I'm confused. The guests are paying for their own meals? Are they expected to get the bride a gift on top of that?
