I took it in...yikes...1988. So, I am definitely no help.
Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Congrats, GC! The GRE is easy. Like -t said, it's like the SAT.
The hiring manager finally called back, Christ. I was listening to Puddle of Mudd and leaving an LJ comment, and suddenly the phone rang, and I recognized the number. And I was like OH SHIT. So I quickly turned off the music and went Away and pulled up my Interview notes.
He was just calling to apologize for not having gotten back to me, that things were hectic and they were still definitely interested. I was in no danger of losing the job since the position still hasn't been posted yet. We set up a time to talk one week from now. Which, if it goes well, will lead to an interview down there. Which will kill me dead.
GC, I just took the GREs in December, and I took a Kaplan class which was very helpful for me. If you get the book, they should explain their "method" which of course I can't remember exactly now, but was a good time management/logic approach for both the Math and the Verbal.
Also, the pointers for the essay were good.
I took the GRE less than a year ago. I found it not too bad, also, very very much like the SAT.
Books help.
I'm actually planning on starting teaching SAT and GRE test prep (if Princeton Review ever actually gets back to me... which they should!), but I haven't had my training or I'd give you The Big Hints.
I took a Kaplan class
Oooh...how long did it take? Cost? Oooooh.
Look! It's an lj community that's all pictures of cats!
I bet Hec is a member.
Yay and good luck, GC. I thought I said that before, but apparently I only said it in my head, where the other imaginary people live.
Now I'm wondering if I told either Sail or lisah how smoking their hair-dos look on them. Just in case I didn't? Smokin'!
It was, er, $1099 and I think it was like 8 weeks? If your company will pick up the tab (which was the situation in my case) I recommend it.
Though I had to buy myself a cookie as a pre-emptive reward for the Math sessions.
Good luck, GC! I took the GRE cold a few years ago (out of college for 10+ years) and, while I scored up there with the top 40% of 4th-graders on the math, the other two sections were easy. Don't sweat it!
(Unless you have to do well on the math)
That sounds very promising, P-C!
GC, I picked up one of those Kaplan or Princeton Review (I forget which) books for the GMAT and it was very helpful. Hints for studying practice tests, tips for actually taking the test. I don't know if it raised my score any, but it made me a LOT less nervous about taking it.
