To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sounds like a question for the vet -- that would be an awfully fast growing tumor. {{Toto & vw}}

Or an awfully fast growing Toto... best wishes to you both, vw. Fingers crossed for simple and easy.

My Healing Food Pyramid would start with a dark chocolates base, continue with fudges, followed by brownies, Devils Food cakes and topped with chocolate ice cream variations.

In case you didn't know, dcj is BRILLIANT!

The problem with that food pyramid is that it lists beer as "optional."

Ginger, take the option!

MY chiro has one too.

OMG, I used to watch her on Nick at Nite! Man, LA is a freaky town.

Hmm. I need a GP. Keep putting it off, on account of I suck.

Lillian is 4 months on Saturday. Today I took the head protector thing off the swing, because she was getting too big to have it in. Where'd my baby go? Who is this small interactive human?

She's Fang, the newest minion of the Evil Bunny Alliance!

should we NOT use recipes that are in printed cookbooks? I ask because when my PTA did a cookbook fundraiser they told us not to submit recipes direct from cookbooks because of copyright. Please advise.

Although I am not a lawyer, yada, yada, I try to keep up with copyright for work. No legal advice, yada, yada, but I have read up on this one. It seems pretty clear that actual recipes (lists of ingredients) are fair game. Straightforward directions are also ok, if there's really not another way to say things. Commentary probably should not be included. This is because ideas and facts themselves are not copyrightable, just their expression.

Just rewording something does not make it ok to use it, if it wouldn't be ok otherwise, as that's a transformative use, which is a right that the copyright holder retains. Also, giving credit is right and good, and may keep you from getting in trouble at school for plagiarism, but it doesn't really affect a copyright or fair use analysis.

Searching online, you will probably find sources for every possible pro and con for every aspect of copyright, because the actual law is vaguish and people have different opinions and different levels of risk aversion.
