Oh, Cindy! I hope it was his staff, so you don't have to find a new doctor. How scary, and how rage-making!

I'm pretty sure it was the staff's fault, because his call at 12:30 came otherwise out of the blue. I think the woman I spoke to (and actually, handed the phone off to Scott, when she was trying to tell me to just give him Benedryl and don't worry about it) made an executive decision she never should have made. It must have gotten back to him, and then he called to tell us to take him to the ER. I don't think I'll have to find a doctor, but they're not infants any more, and I have a lot of friends in town, who use other Pedis, so we'll be okay if we do decide on a new one.

Thanks Betsy, Gud, and everyone. I'm stress eating Cheetos. Chris is sleeping because of the second dose of Benedryl. Julia is sneeking Cheetos out of the bag, and thinks I don't see. Scott is pretending to nap, but I see him watching the Full House re-runs Ben has on.

Now I need to see Primer again.

Scary Dr. stories are really creeping me out. But it's really true you have to be your own advocate. Minor one - my last physical, the Dr. finished up and left without sending me for blood tests. I asked the nurse, who asked the Dr., who was all, "Why? Is there something we need to look out for?" Only the fact that Every Single Person on my Mom's side of the family has Diabetes (which is in my chart, and brought up by me every visit). Whatev. Cindy, you're my new Inspiration (Connie too, 'cuz I KNOW she takes no prisoners). I have to go in for a physical sometime soon and I Will Be Listened To, whatever concerns I happen to have at the time.

Thank goodness all turned out okay with Chris, enjoy the reaming tomorrow.

Cindy, I'm glad your son is okay. I hope that the office, um, corrects the staff member who tried to tell you he was just upset. I still think that the doctor needs to say to you, "My staff member did wrong, and I am taking steps to ensure it never happens again."

All the Buffista babies are the cutest! Annabel has such gorgeous eyes, and Lily and Mal are both adorable and visibly engaged with the world. I love the pictures of Plei and Paul with Lily, too.

Meanwhile, downstairs there is fresh, locally-made ginger icecream, crammed with big, glistening chunks of crystalized ginger.

I just had brunch with Erinaceous, and I had this amazing french toast thing..."tower of chocolate french toast" or something, it was callled--bread with chocolate chunks in it, french toasted, with creme brulee sauce, and bananas, and more chocolate, and I think like, mascarpone, or something...it was SO GOOD.

OUCH. And, um, not to be scary alarmist girl, but this is exactly how P.’s bout with Lyme Disease started -- it felt like he'd twisted it, but progressively got worse and worse. Make sure your doctor tests for it, especially given you were just in a rural area.

See, I've only seen it once, on DVD, but at someone else's house, so not able to back over and check details. Therefore, I'm still a little bit Huh-wha? about it. Must to re-watch.

See now, I just got off the phone with my dermatologist who ROCKS.

Two weeks ago she took a 'thing' off my leg. Tomorrow I was supposed to get the stitches removed and the results. I have the chance to go away tomorrow and access to a nurse so I canceled my apt (the doc had said that the lab work was pretty pro-forma, she saw when she took the thing off that it was likely nothing -- I was happy to wait for a letter)

The office left me a ms. to call about the cancellation. I called back. My Doc took the call personally, told me the results (which were fine), and personally scheduled a date before my insurance expires so she could check out the healing.

My doctors rock.

I'm in the running for maybe three positions at this point, have definitely struck out on four, and applied to 5-6 others so long ago I think I can assume I was rejected even without a letter telling me so.

Susan, would it be at all helpful for someone to point out that this means you've sent out something like 12 resumes? And it took me, oh, 90 or so to get my current job, and 70 to get the job before this? I understand you're being more selective than I was and that D.C.does not equal Seattle, but still, it seems awful soon to give up hope.
