Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Fred, that's no fun at all.

But the good news is that more than likely it is something simple like "garbage gut" which my Harvey has suffered on occasion. Mostly those occasions were him eating heaven-knows-what out in the desert, or me buying very, very cheap food. Now that he has to have prescription food to treat his urinary tract condition, this is a non-issue.

Here's to your kitties' health, and a reasonable vet bill.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope your kitties turn out to be ok, Fred.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Someone wake up Steph and ask her if that is a 4/4 bass or a 3/4 bass - DH wants to know

I have no idea, but I'll check with my bro later.

Dinner last night at the bro's restaurant was really fucking good, as was the beer. The place was packed, which he says is par for the course. It's awesome that his place is doing so well.

[special note for juliana]: We had dinner with some of SiL's friends, one of whom is from Minneapolis. I mentioned Z's theatre, and then mentioned the play Z was just in with Courtney Vance -- which made SiL's friend light up like a Christmas tree. He saw it and loved it, so be sure to pass the accolades on to Z.

Now Dad is watching Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman on cable and I'm mainlining coffee.

In the plans for today: communing with nature in Stowe. This involves, I'm told a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain. I hope it involves a gondola ride back down.

And the rest of the family gets here later on today, at which point the insanity should kick into high gear.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

{{{Fred's kitties}}} Poor things. My cats loaf in their general direction. Well, my cats loaf no matter what, but I'll tell them to loaf in their direction.

Timelies. Gronk.

I would like to share my major accomplishment of the day yesterday: I ran 9 miles on the first day of my period. Given that I usually spend the first day either lying in bed groaning & napping or wishing I was lying in bed groaning & napping, I consider yesterday to be a massive triumph of the will, but not in that icky Leni/Hitler way.

Yay! I shall. Thanks, sweetie. *mwah*

hmmm. I should tell Z to upload the pictures of us with Courtney, Angela, and Reginald Vel Johnson. Yes.

What is even happening?

Scott and a skiied Stowe a lifetime ago. I don't even think we were engaged yet. I'm pretty sure you can get the gondola to take you back down. I loved Stowe with snow. Teppy, are the places you're staying air conditioned? Scott and I have found this to be a problem when we've taken off-season vacations in ski country.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Steph, the person from Waterbury I ran into last week said the Alchemist has totally revitalized Waterbury, and that it's packed every night.

I only wish the brewer/owner guy hadn't been such a tool to us... but the food and beer is just so excellent.

Get a cider doughnut at that cider place on the tourist route through Stowe! YUM!

Heh. Yeah, this was a thing last week.

So far, yes, b/c we're staying at a Comfort Inn, which is a big ol' chain hotel. Though my air conditioner is so loud I suspect it's trying to get free from the wall.

We move to the B&B tomorrow afternoon, and I don't know if it's air-conditioned, but the weather in VT is supposed to drop back into the 70s tomorrow, so we should be fine.

(And now Little House on the Prairie is on. Half of me wants to watch, and half of me wants to run screaming from the room.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

An ex-co-worker of mine (actually, the person whose job I took over when I became a permanent hire) moved up there last year, and she recognized the place instantly when I mentioned it to her.
