[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Teppy, are the places you're staying air conditioned? Scott and I have found this to be a problem when we've taken off-season vacations in ski country.

So far, yes, b/c we're staying at a Comfort Inn, which is a big ol' chain hotel. Though my air conditioner is so loud I suspect it's trying to get free from the wall.

We move to the B&B tomorrow afternoon, and I don't know if it's air-conditioned, but the weather in VT is supposed to drop back into the 70s tomorrow, so we should be fine.

(And now Little House on the Prairie is on. Half of me wants to watch, and half of me wants to run screaming from the room.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

An ex-co-worker of mine (actually, the person whose job I took over when I became a permanent hire) moved up there last year, and she recognized the place instantly when I mentioned it to her.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Half of me wants to watch, and half of me wants to run screaming from the room.

There's always watch-n-snark (mentally or vocally). That's what we did with Jerry Springer on a couple of vacations.

Steph, the person from Waterbury I ran into last week said the Alchemist has totally revitalized Waterbury, and that it's packed every night.

That's the impression I get. That's so damn cool.

I only wish the brewer/owner guy hadn't been such a tool to us... but the food and beer is just so excellent.

That sucks. If my bro hadn't been so busy, he would have taken good care of you.

Get a cider doughnut at that cider place on the tourist route through Stowe! YUM!

Heh. Dad and I were considering tourist-y things to do, and he nixed Ben & Jerry's, and Cabot Creamery, and when I suggested Cold Hollow Cider Mill, he burst out with "I *hate* apple cider!" (This was at dinner last night.) Everyone at the table cracked up.

What is even happening?

Get a cider doughnut at that cider place on the tourist route through Stowe! YUM!

Oh, yeah, baby.

Heh. Yeah, this was a thing last week.

We went to Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH. I think it was when I was first pregnant with Ben, maybe even before we told our folks. It was late May or early June, so we didn't even give heat and A.C. as much thought as we might have, had it been July or August. It also ended up being an early heatwave. Between the heat, humidity, and pregnancy-induced nausea, if I wasn't in the pool or the shower, I was not what you'd call a fun date. I was more what you'd call a baby howler monkey.

Right ON! I am so damn proud of my bro.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

Emeline & Annabel stories are so cute! (I love Em's black shirt!)

health~ma to Toto!

IOmememeN, I'm heading to Florida this afternoon to finalize my plans to move. If everything goes according to plan I will only be a Michigan resident for only one more month! Yay!

This is the outside of the bro's restaurant: [link]

And the back window, through which you can watch my bro doing his Iron Chef routine: [link]

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

That sucks. If my bro hadn't been so busy, he would have taken good care of you.

We didn't really expect or agitate for any attention, as we are Invisible Friends, and, well, you know.

I hope to someday meet your brother, just 'cause he sounds like such a cool guy. We'll be back. The brewer would have had to spit in our beer or something to keep us away from the amazing food and beer.

Cider donuts are THE BOMB and don't actually taste like cider. faintly apple-y, but mostly like homemade old fashioned fried donuts.

(edited to remove stupid old news that doesn't need bringing up)
