Now that I think about it, I think I have a slip. It came with a sheer dress, so I don't think about it much, and only wear it with that one dress. Which is once so far.

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Mom nagged encouraged me to wear one to my grandfather's funeral. I fidgeted in it enough that it ended up in my purse as soon as I could wriggle out of it. Thus endth my slip experimentation. Except for an old-fashioned one as a dress. They're very slickery.
"Anything that implies modesty" is not making it with today's modern women, said Dickinson, director of marketing for Vassarette, a popular supplier of underwear at huge retailers like Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target.
Pfffft. Tell that to the Miuccia and to the lowered hemlines everywhere.
I went looking for slips at Filene's Basement, Marshalls and T.J. Maxx and didn't find a single one.
Oddly, I can find a decent array of slips at our downtown Marshall's.
I just think that the different fabrics available now make a slip redundant. I certainly wouldn't wear a slip under most of my skirts, because they're that stretchy polyesterish fabric.
The closest thing I own to a slip is the hoops I wear under the huge Elizabethan skirt, and nobody but Superman can see through that skirt. Otherwise I am slip-less.

And there are a million lengths too. My aim is, for any style that I would wear a slip with, is to buy a lined skirt.
I wear slips the way the good Lord intended. As clothing, not as undergarments. I love the ones with the cute lace edges.
Hmm. It occurs to me that the last of my slips gave up the ghost a fair while back, and that when I restock my wardrobe, I should pick a couple up.
I own a few slips. Half-slips and full slips. That doesn't include hoops/petticoats for Civil War reenacting. I rarely wear the slips, tho.
If I think you can see through it, I wear a slip, if not, no slip. I own one in black and one in beige.
ImememeN, I have managed to successfully register for classes, set up my monthly payment plan, and order a remote to replace the one I lost [it costs almost as much as the VCR]. That's enough for one day, right? I think I am going to take a hot bath soon, and then get ready to meet up with Teacup Guy at his place. We are going to an Italian art exhibit tonight.
I have a few full slips, because I like to wear them as nightgowns when I am in a nightgown and bathrobe around the house mood, and I think I have two half slips, one beige and one black, but I am not sure.
You know, I think I stick to things that come with linings if they need it too. I never really thought about it, but having to find an item of clothing to fit under other clothing? I already have to deal with bras, why add further complication?
That's enough, sj. Enjoy the exhibit.
